Fraser’s Hill, Bukit Tinggi

‘Little England of Malaysia’ is a nature getaway worth visiting. Fraser’s Hill has its roots in the 1890s, when Scottish prospector Louis James Fraser opened up a tin mine but mysteriously vanished in 1915. In 1917, the bishop of Singapore rediscovered Fraser’s Hill while on a hunt for the man, providing suggestions for the area to be developed into a hill station which was brought to fruition by authorities. It is the last hill stations of Malaysia, an imprint by former British colonial masters.

Fraser’s Hill enjoys a well-preserved landscape teeming with lush greenery – with little commercial development and enjoy all sorts of activities here.

1. Strawberry Garden

Fraser’s Hill Strawberry Garden is located in Aida Daniya Restaurant and English Teahouse, walk down the sloppy stairs down to the glasshouse features a hydroponic strawberry farm where visitors can pick and collect strawberries that are weighted and purchased for their own consumption on the spot.

After the visit, take a seating at one of their outdoor tables, order afternoon tea with your favourite scones and pastry from their menu and enjoy the scenery.

3. Allan’s Water

Allan water is originally a water collection and supply during the colonial hill station era, since it was disuse.
It was turned into a park for recreational activities and paddle boating. Rent a paddle boat and paddle across the lake, observe the bird fluttering, monkey and squirrel hopping from trees, what a good environment to be in.
You can also buy fish food and feed the hungry koi fish in the lake.

4. Bird Interpretive Center

Dedicated to bird watching, one of Fraser's Hill's most popular tourist and visitor activities, over 250 species of birds have been recorded here, including hornbills, doves, pheasants, eagles and other endemic species.
During certain seasons, migratory birds from Russia, Japan and China visit Fraser's Hill to escape freezing winters and find pasture.

5. The Paddlock

The Paddock is an equestrian center for horse-riding activities in Bukit Fraser. Visitors can ride retired racing horses around a small course guided by the keeper at cheap rates.
Besides the track, a small garden area with benches provides a nice resting spot for admire the surrounding greenery, lined with majestic conifer trees.
Try your hands on the archery range at the bottom of the slope near the entrance.

6. Sports Complex

The Sports Complex is an indoor recreation center facing the town roundabout and clock tower at Bukit Fraser. One of the most iconic buildings in town with a striking facade of contemporary architecture.
Visitors can find a community library, squash courts, function halls, gymnasium, sauna and snooker/pool tables inside of the buiding.

7. Edible Garden

Edible Garden is a mini agricultural farm and plant nursery. They offers free gardening workshops for visitors.
Strawberries, flowers and plants are grown in large greenhouses, while lettuce, tomatoes and other leafy greens creep along the ground and fences at select areas around the compound.
Ornamental plants or flowers, fresh vegetables and crops harvested daily from the garden available for purchase.

8. Sanyi Orchid

Sanyi Orchid Garden is a flower nursery that specialises in orchids at Fraser's Hill, they welcome visitors to visit their garden.
Orchids only need water and fertilizer once a week, repotting is required when it stops blooming, it is super easy to take care of.
Like them? Bring home an orchid plant, transfer your orchid to clay or terracotta pots available for purchase there.

9. Golf Club

The Royal Fraser's Hill Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in the country, situated right in the center of this highland resort destination at town. This 9-hole walking course may be small, but it offers several challenging sections along with beautiful surrounding forest scenery.

10. Jeriau Waterfall

After visiting the attractions in Fraser's Hills, take a drive out of town to look at the significant waterfall of Jeriau Waterfall, which is 4km from Bukit Fraser’s town center.
Follow the well laid out path from the entrance to the waterfall with your family. Watch the water flows as it washes away all your stress away.
